group therapy

Starting in November 2016, McKenzie Medical Center (MMC) will be adding new group therapy sessions: Depression, Chronic Pain and Anxiety. These groups will enhance the services available to our patients, in line with our desire to provide quality and speciality care to our community.

The Depression Group will focus on providing patients with psycho-education about their diagnosis, understanding treatment options that are available, and provide a safe environment to identify and process life issues/stressors that are contributing to their mental health issues. This group will meet the 1st Tuesday of every month at 4 pm.

The Chronic Pain Group will focus on alternative treatment options to deal with pain, psycho-education about the effects of chronic pain on mental health, provide a safe environment to process the effects chronic pain has had on their lifestyle, and create a support network. This group is for adults only and individuals who are invested in seeking alternative forms of treatment i.e. mindfulness, mediation, nutrition, etc. It will mee the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 4 pm.

Similar to the Depression Group, the AnxietyGroup will focus on providing patients with psycho-education about their diagnosis, understanding treatment options that are available, and provide a safe environment to identify and process life issues/stressors that are contributing their mental health issues. It will meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 4pm
