Do you know that IBS affects up to 1 in 7 Americans?

What is IBS? According to the Digestive Health Alliance IBS, or irritable bowel syndrome, is a long-term disorder in which abdominal pain or discomfort is associated with a change in bowel habits (diarrhea, constipation, or alternating episodes of both).  Other symptoms may be present.

Although there is no cure for IBS, there are ways to improve symptoms and feel better.  Whether mild, moderate, or severe, all IBS treatments should begin with education about the nature of the disorder.  If you have signs of IBS, get an accurate diagnosis, work with you provider, and be proactive in your own health maintenance.
