Something to Ponder: If you don’t like the way life looks, change the way you look at life.

I read some interesting little remedies the other day and thought I would share them with you. If you have some remedies that you remember as a child and would like to share them just get them to me and I’ll share them with everybody. Hope you enjoy.

           Remedies We’d Mostly Rather Forget:

 Pretty Fishy:

When I came down with the mumps in the early ‘40’s, when I was a child, my mother promptly put me to bed and rubbed my swollen face with sardine juice. To this day, I can’t stand the smell of sardines…Joyce King

Sweet and Sour:

One of moms’ remedies for a sore throat was to cut a lemon in half and insert a cinnamon stick to suck out lemon juice. It was so soothing and delicious that we were always telling Mom we had a sore throat so we could get more….Rose Johnson

Rooting out Boils:

My husband had a boil shortly after we got married. My mother told him she could cure it. She boiled the roots of a purple thistle and made a tea. My husband drank the tea and never had another boil. My mother said the tea purifies the blood and that everyone should drink it occasionally…Pauline Edwards
