Rebecca Johnson and Leila “Lee” Nichols Board Certified Family Nurse Midwives join McKenzie Medical Center, complimenting its full range of ob care services including OB-GYN, Nurse Midwives, Family Practitioners and Pediatric Care.

Johnson graduated from University of Cincinnati with a Masters of Science in Nursing: Certified Nurse Midwife and a Post Masters Certificate in Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in December 2009. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Murray State University in May 1994.


Becky Johnson, RNC-OB, MSN, CNM/WHNP

Originally from Benton, Kentucky, Johnson has held various positions committed to providing quality health care. She was also involved in the implementation, coordination and management of the first ACLS-OB course in the State of Kentucky.

Johnson commented, “I am looking forward to practicing in Tennessee at McKenzie Medical Center and gaining experience as a midwife. I am excited by this opportunity to do what I love – practice as a midwife and help bring gynecological care to women of all ages.”

Johnson has been married to her high school sweet-heart Craig Johnson for 21 years. They have four children: Austin (16), Blake (14), Grant (12), and Hailey (10). Most of Johnson’s spare time is devoted to her children. She also enjoys baseball, outdoor activities and watching good movies.

Nichols graduated from Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky with a Masers of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in nurse-midwifery. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Union University.  

Nichols was born and currently resides in Jackson, Tennessee.  She has worked at a number of facilities within the Madison County. She is excited to be relocating her services to Carroll County so that she can continue to be a positive role model in healthcare for West Tennessee.

Nichols has been married to Houston Nichols for 16 years. Together they have two children: Luke (10) and William (8). Nichols enjoys spending time with her family, doing activities such as fishing and swimming.

Nichols commented, “One of my friends told me what a great place McKenzie Medical Center was to work. MMC is committed to caring for patients as if they were their own family and I strongly believe this is how patients should be treated. I am very excited to be here and I’m looking forward to getting to know people within the community.”
