McKenzie Medical Center extends the services available to Carroll County and the surrounding areas via the recent addition of a Counselor, David Johnson.

Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to MMC. He obtained his Master’s in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1992. Johnson was the Treatment Director at Spirit Lake from 2008 through 2010. Previously, he was a therapist at the Christian Counseling Center for sixteen years. He is also currently the Director of the David Johnson Chorus.

A resident of McKenzie for the past 35 years, Johnson is looking forward to being a part of company that has provided his community with compassionate and quality medical care for over 30 years.

“I am intrigued by MMC’s efforts to be a one-stop place for all of a person’s healthcare needs,” said Johnson, “I have been in the people helping business for 35 years and enjoy it as much today as when I first began. I am eager to help MMC in their efforts to meet the emotional and behavioral needs of people in the area.”

Johnson provides a range of counseling services including: Individual Therapy; Family Therapy; Children and Adolescents; Marital Therapy; Parent/Child Conflict; Eating Disorders; Depression/Bipolar; Anxiety and Panic Disorders; ADHD Assessments and Related Counseling; PTSD; Victims of Trauma; Domestic Violence; Self Esteem Issues; Grief; Alcohol and Other Drugs; and Spiritual Issues.

Married for 38 years to Brenda and with two daughters – Dinah and Rebekah – as well six grandchildren, Johnson appreciates MMC’s commitment to treat patients as they would expect their own families to be treated.

In his spare time, Johnson can be found wood working, hiking, enjoying old movies and directing the David Johnson chorus.
